So you have taken our Basic Workshop and have begun to get some real nice photos. Then you joined us in our Annapolis Workshop and things really began to ‘click.” You are not only getting some good digital files but are also getting some good prints.
What do you do now?
You take our Mounting, Matting and Framing Workshop. Let me describe what these words mean. Mounting photographs is securing them on a ridged board of some sort. Most people use a ridged cardboard especially made to mount photos on called mount board. Matting is the process of cutting a hole out of another piece ridged cardboard to act as a frame around the photo. It acts as a decorative frame for the photo and keeps the photo from touching the glass if you frame the image. The cardboard used to mat photographs is called mat boards. Mat boards come in various colors and textures. The mounted prints can then be used and displayed in a number of ways. You can cover them with acetate or used poly bags to protect them. If you want to hang them on your walls most people then frame these prints.
In our MMF Workshop we will review all these techniques in a detailed PowerPoint presentation. We will then go into Roger Miller’s shop and you will mount and mat three of your own either 5”x 7” or 8.5”x 11” prints. Finally we will review the different types of framing that is available and the benefits of each.
All the equipment and boards you will use will be supplied. All you need is three prints that are 5”X7” or 8.5’ x 11”. We will also give you a detailed list of where to get your own equipment and supplies.
Cost of the MMF Workshop is $200.00 – if you book it direct with us it is $100.00
